STEEL TOWER CLIMBING 2

This training course is designed to provide the candidates with the further knowledge and skills on steel tower climbing, using vertical work positioning methods.  We will provide you with the safe, practical and efficient methods for working on steel tower structures.

Who is this course for?

Personnel who are required to work on steel towers.  These may include maintenance technicians, engineers and supervisors in industries related to energy, network cable car systems, staging, infrastructures or cargo terminals, etc.

Prerequisites

Holds a STC1 certificate

Physically and medically fit

Minimum 18 years of age

Course Content

  • Revision on STC1 topics
  • Further equipment inspection
  • Basic rigging on steel towers
  • Rope management
  • Rope / edge protection
  • Moving along vertical steelworks (using descending method)
  • Moving along diagonal steelworks (using descending method and work positioning lanyards)

Assessment

Candidates shall do a short written test and a practical assessment at the end of the course.

Certification

A certificate of course completion will be issued to successful candidates.

It is recommended that refresher or further training is carried out within 2 years.
